Desiccated coconut is mainly used as an ingredient in confectionery and bakery industry. It’s used in making cookies, cakes, pastries, desserts, puddings, or any other coconut based recipes.
Desiccated Coconut is obtained by de-husking and de-sheeling fresh mature coconuts (cocos nucifera). It has all the natural flavor and the coconut’s aroma retained as the coconut flesh is a primary grade and dried without utilization of sweeteners or additives.
All processes ensure chemical and microbiological superiority. High fat desiccated coconut has a minimum oil content of 63% (± 3%) with 5 sizes: fine, medium, shredded, flakes, and chips. Low fat desiccated coconut has oil content ≤ 30%, maximum moisture 4.5%.
